Is it April??

I can hardly believe that April has come so fast!  And I feel like the month is already flying by.  Between work, baby girl and family trips, May will be here in no time!

So what have you been up to this month?

Here are our highlights (and lowlights!):

Highlight:  Baby girl got herself a new toddler bed.
Lowlight:  We cannot get her to fall asleep in it!

Highlight:  This baby in my belly has not needed nearly as much food as baby girl.  I am on the low side for weight gain for me.
Lowlight:   Last week, I spent some time in the ER after the baby popped out 3 ribs and pinched a nerve in my arm!

Highlight:  I have gotten my energy back... on some days.
Lowlight:  I cannot get everything done enough to run.  Too much on the to do lists!

Now to go conquer that to do list!  A friend's baby shower next week needs decorations, I need to work and baby girl apparently needs some water!  :-)

HELLLOOOOOO OUT THERE!

Good Morning World!

My little family has not dropped off the face of the planet, but February kept us extremely busy!  I have taken a new job here in northeast Ohio and the month of February was spent at various conferences throughout the state.  This is going to be a fun challenge of a job, where basically I get to sell tennis!  February was a quick tutorial in mama working for baby girl and newbie.  We are all happy that the overnight travel has ended and that we are getting in a groove here with the new job.  It is an interesting dynamic of working at home with a 2 year old around.

I have been able to keep up running at least 2-3 days a week this month and traveling actually made it easier.  I could just get up in the morning and hit the treadmill.  I need to start that here at home.  That's a discussion with newbie for sure.  We are attempting to keep our plans to run the Cleveland Half marathon in May but life sure is trying to knock us out.

With the traveling in February came extreme exhaustion.  But that was not just from traveling.  Baby #2 will be making its debut in September 2012!  Baby girl keeps telling me I have an "itty bitty polar bear" in my tummy and that she is very excited for a "boy sister in sepwember."

So that news leads me to requesting your help:  I need some running while pregnant tips!  I finally have my energy level back and am going to force myself to get those runs in.  Does anyone out there have a half marathon training plan for preggos?  What tips do you have?  I will be 24 weeks at the time of the half marathon and will be doing a run/ walk combo.

Hopefully the weather here is breaking and newbie and I will be able to do some runs together outside but this is Ohio.  Monday 5 inches of snow, Tuesday and Wednesday 60 degrees and sunny, Thursday rain and 35 degrees.  Who knows what the weather gods will bring??

Tag! I am it!

Alma tagged me in her 11 random things post!

Here are the rules:
1. Post these rules.
2. You must post 11 random things about yourself.
3. Answer the questions set for you in their post.
4. Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer.
5. Go to their blog and tell them you've tagged them.

11 Random Things:
1.  I am a LEO and every bit of a LEO.  Sometimes my Virgo husband says it is just not fair.
2.  I love to read.  I am working my way through the Harry Bosch and Rizzoli and Isles series.  I am almost done and sad.  Any suggestions on a new series?
3. Wishy washy makes me crazy!
4.  I am attempting to do a load of laundry each day so that I don't cry at the mound of laundry like I did last Saturday!
5.  I love summer.
6.  I miss all of my tennis girls in c-bus.  They cannot be replaced.
7.  My husband and I met in college, when he was dating someone else...
8.  After I had my baby girl, I did not like my work situation so I created my own business.  With moderate success.
9. I would love to travel the world country by country over the course of a year.  Just pick up and go!
10.  Drama wears me out.
11.  My 2 year old wears me out!

Now for her questions:
  1. What is your preferred method of re-fueling after a long run?  When I was training for my marathon, I did a Donatos veggie pizza.  It was awesome!  Now it is something with peanut butter and water.  Not many long runs lately!
  2. Do you keep a food diary?  I do not.  I tend to become obsessed with things...
  3. Do you typically run alone or with others? Running is my quiet time.  Sometimes races drive me nuts with all the people!
  4. If you could get paid to run, would you?  Heck yeah!
  5. Desiree, Shalane, or Kara? Kara
  6. What/where is your “dream” race, the race you would love to do over all others barring any limitations in resources or ability? NYC Marathon.  I want to do it so bad!
  7. What are you most proud of accomplishing in 2011? My two year old and I surviving 5 months apart from her daddy.
  8. Have you ever changed careers? I just did.  I am still in tennis, but mostly off court now.
  9. What podcasts (if any) do you listen to? Have not done this yet.  I like the tv with my treadmill.
  10. If you had to pick, where would you go in 2012: Japan, Iceland, Mexico, or Spain? Spain!  My husband loved it there.
  11. How much longer do you think you’ll continue to blog? I blog?  It is so sporadic that sometimes I forget that I even do it!
  12.
So here is my dilemma: Everyone I read has done this all ready, so I have no one to tag! So those readers out there who never comment, I am calling on you!  Answer just one of these questions as a comment to this post:
    1.  If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go, how would you get there and why?
    2.  What is your favorite part of your day?  ( I personally enjoy quiet mornings when I can get them!)
    3.  Baby girl wants to know your favorite color and shape!
    4.  What are you most proud of in your life?
    5.   Your favorite vacation and why?
